Problem of the Day: 1/28/13

What is the greatest common factor of 2x2x2x3x5 and 2x2x3x3x5x5?

Solution to yesterday’s problem:

To predict the one-time fee, we must first find the charge per day. We can find this by subtracting the cost for 2 days from the cost for 3 days; 188 – 132 = $56. Now to find the one-time fee, we subtract $56 until we get to the cost for zero days. 132 – 56 = $76, which is for one day. 76 – 56 = $20 so the one-time fee is 20 dollars.
